ONE MORE MEMBER

We have added one more member to the team yesterday. Janice from the store joined us also, which puts us back to 15 members. I do not want anymore and hope no one else asks to join us. If we have 15 or below we are eligible for recognition prizes through the relay. Most of it just consists of being recognised verbally at the Relay, signage for our campground, and lapel pins for each team member. If we have over 15 we are not eligible. Of course, it all depends on us hitting special goals also. but I have no doubts that we can do that. I want this team to receive the recognition and don't want to disqualify us with too many members. I just received a new handbook yesterday and everything is spelled out in this one.

In Memory

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!””Gone where?”Gone from my sight.
That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!” there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: ‘Here she comes!”
And that is dying.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will. When the road you're trudging seems all uphill. When funds are low and the debts are high. And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
