6 or 7 months CPT

If I could study one chapter a week, learn one chapter per week, really know it do the labs, read the guide, answer the questions. Really know it, one chapter per week, I would be able to take the test in about 6 or 7 months. I have been putting this off since buying the club. everything always seems to get in the way. This is still a goal for me. I need to make it a priority. Wish there was a class close by that I could take a few days and be done with it, but I checked again and there is nothing scheduled close by.

Planning and organizing

My new goals include to clean out one drawer, closet, shelf, thing, etc daily. Started today with my jewelry box, the wooden one on my dresser, Got rid of tons of junk. Felt great. Enjoying the day. John is at camp, I am home and off. Christmas music is playing on sirius. Snow is falling gently and i am enjoying time off and here alone. Cher and I went for our second annual Black Friday shopping trip yesterday. Had a blast. We were both so excited, neither of us slept the night before. Gone about 12 hours. Lots of gifts bought.

CLX

Wonder why we do the things we do sometimes? Perfect example, I love my Chalene Extreme Workouts. Haven't done them all summer. Hate being in the basement when it is nice outside. Went down this morning and got a workout done. Loved it!! Felt so great, however, I had to start over with 5,8 and 10 pounds. Wasn't quite up to the 12 and 15 that I was at last winter. However, don't think its going to take long to get back to it. Felt much stronger. I'm working on my goals for the new year already. Know its a while off, but seems like I always start thinking that way about now.

Time

I really need to quit killing time and surfing the web at night. I should be studying. I really want that Certification as Personal Trainer. I could be using this time at night to read and learn and make plans to take that test. I have accomplished two goals for the club. I ordered the stepper today and the Curves Smart is coming from a closing club next month. These were two goals ever since I bought the club. Certified Personal Trainer should be the next goal to knock off, think of what an impact that would make. Think of being able to advertise that and what all i could do with it. Today, when Clark dropped off my car he made that comment that he works with a personal trainer..and yesterday when Dana quit and we talked I could have said I am a Personal Trainer, it would hold weight. Okay, getting off here and studying a bit.

Decision

I have made a decision. I have decided that yes, even though I now own Curves, I do still want to be Certified Personal Trainer. I have been so back and forth on this for the past two years. To study or not to study? To find the time or not? To make the time or not? A goal or not? I think I have finally decided that yes, this is what I want to do. I had been considering just studying the nutrition part, which is the biggie for the ladies at the club, however, why not just do it? So, here is my plan. To continue to study my training material, to do the work, the video's the labs, the study guide in order and then to watch for a 3 day workshop somewhere in the area in relatively close location, not in the winter. And to get registered for it. I AM going to do this!

Still trying to think if I want Curves Smart at the club. Think I would really like to add this but the price is high.

Good morning

Well, again its been a while since I have been on here. Life gets strange and busy sometimes. The turtles are gone, both of them and I refuse to buy another one. think that is 4 or 5 that have now gone away. I hope someday they just decide to come home, but in the meantime I don't have any. I started my day out a bit early today, wrote out my list of goals and ways to achieve them and did my ab exercises first thing. Felt great. Also took some time to read Joel Osteen, Your best life yet book that I bought quite a few years ago. I always love reading that kind of stuff and have a few I want to get through. I have so many goals and dreams that I want to accomplish but mostly the same thing. Lose the weight, the body and belly fat, grow the club, Certified Personal Trainer?? That last one I am so undecided about. I have wanted it and started it so many times, I think it would help me help women but yet a nutrition degree seems more helpful, however, this one i have the books on and it covers so much of it. The smart thing would be to finish what i have started and carry on with it. Now I have to have 6 CEC each year to stay Cleveland Clinic Certified. I have a webinar on Wed to give me those credits for this year. Should be interesting.

Relaxing

What an absolutley gorgeous day yesterday was. We took off early for some shopping and breakfast. Stopped at My Garden and bought two new koi and a new turtle, named her Sammi. John from My Garden says this one is female. Sammi and Tyke soon became fast friends, they shared dinner on Turtle Island and then swam most of the afternoon and evening. It took them about a half hour to discover each other. I think it was the most relaxed I have been in ages. I sat and just watched them and the fish most of the afternoon. it felt wonderful and I am looking forward to that time again today. The pond is somewhat a mess again. We called and ordered a replacement bulb for the uv light and sure hope its the right one. They make it so difficult to find which one you need. WE called the Pond Guy and they helped. It should be arriving in a few days. I had ordered chemicals which should be coming also. Next year I need to remember to just order the darn light first.

loving the day today. Day off and started out great. Practiced new Zumba Song, Good Morning, which I love and hope to add soon. Then out for a walk/jog up those hills. Pace is 15:56 minutes per mile. working to increase that and jog more than walking. No one out today to visit with so just kept moving and felt wonderful, then home to a protein shake for breakfast. Now to get the day going and some work done. Zumba tonight.

NCSF

Reregistered for the NCSF site again today. I am finally feeling confident with the work I needed to do for Curves to be able to study for my CPT again. I really do want to finish this although it has been on hold for over 2 years now. I want this certification and it would help me help the ladies at the club, plus give more credibility to what I do. I am going for it. Now with the additional staff at the club also, I do have a bit more free time so it won't be as hard to find the time.

Heavier and heavier

I love it. Just finished Chalean Extreme Burn phase 1 again and am now lifting 17 pounds for some of the lower body exercises. It is funny how much lighter 10 pounds now feels. I love the fact that I am getting so much stronger. I also love those Bowflex Select tech weights. It is funny how much health and fitness now rule my life after years of smoking, and junk food. I am so glad that my eyes are finally open and now am able to help others become healthy, fit and strong also.

March really??

It's March? Really it is. Almost the end of March and I have no idea where the past few months have gone. We held our second Annual RFL fundraiser last week and raised $3278. A bit more than last year. It went amazingly well and again we had a large chinese auction and served lunch to the public, we served 119 lunches. Picture is of our cake.
Hard to believe i have owned Curves now for over 2 years.

It is so great to be able to help women get healthy, fit and strong. One of my goals is to still finish my certification as Personal Trainer. I have put that on hold for the past two years and finished all the training I needed through Curves so now the time has come where maybe I can focus a bit on the trainer cert again. I am also now a licensed Zumba instructor, what fun that is.

New Year- New Goals

Well, I am not on sparkpeople much anymore since buying the Curves franchise in March 2010. I miss it and miss the people. I do still check in sometimes and was still logging food and exercise, However I bought a fitbit and now use that site. I really hope that sparkpeople and fitbit do manage to link together. There is some talk on it.

My goals for the new year...of course to stay on track. I have managed to lose site of that with fighting the mono and lymes. it is not gone, still very active and I have an appt with an infectious disease doctor on Thursday. I hope he can help. I have quit teaching Zumba for now but would like to restart it. I have been eating a bit more hoping that will help also. Didn't want to be cutting calories while I am fighting this disease.

Now, my new goal is to see the scale not go up at all...not even .01 pounds. Not to sure that digital is the way to go, but its what I have ..lol

If I can keep it going down or steady for now, it will be good enough. I am going back on Curves Complete weight management plan tomorrow. Enough. It's time.

Goal 2. ensure those 10,000 steps a day. I use to do this daily without much thought when selling furniture. There were days it was 15,000. I bought a health club and spend to much time behind the desk, that needs to change.

Goal 3. Get in 10 flights of stairs a day, the fitbit counts these and I can work towards a new badge with it. Awesome!
