Getting it together

I am so proud of our team. We are getting it all together now to do lunches to benefit the Relay. Laura is cooking lunch this Monday, Pam next week and Janice the following. We will sell lunch for $3.00 a plate, proceeds to go to the relay.

One of the girls that I talk to on Sparkpeople.com donated to the team on line today. That took us to $399 for donations. thank you Cheryl! Took me a while to figure out who it was from.

The sales staff have all been wearing their buttons and I'm tracking that daily for Jess. Also, I took the money buckets in and someone actually had put some change in one of them today.

In Memory

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!””Gone where?”Gone from my sight.
That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!” there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: ‘Here she comes!”
And that is dying.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will. When the road you're trudging seems all uphill. When funds are low and the debts are high. And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
