FIGURES

Figures the sun would be out and looks gorgeous today. The first nice day in ages and I am willingly inside for the relay fund raiser. if we could have gotten walmart at least we could have been outside. I think I'm going for a nice long walk this morning before getting ready to go and that should help somewhat. May even do a bit of shopping in between times this morning when someone else can watch the booth. I am taking the camera and sure to get a few pictures but also sure that everyone will not want them taken. Too bad. I hope all of you take a minute and read the comment from my darling daughter. she had to post a comment on the bake sale and the cookies. I got a big chuckle out of it. I sure do miss those kids. We will hopefully be in Vegas in the fall and we can make her some no bakes. Or send her the recipe?? Enjoy the day everyone!

In Memory

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!””Gone where?”Gone from my sight.
That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!” there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: ‘Here she comes!”
And that is dying.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will. When the road you're trudging seems all uphill. When funds are low and the debts are high. And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
