FIRST PLACE

Today members of the M.B. Pavement Pounding Posse will be at walmart selling chances. Well, actually one member will be there this afternoon and I will be going after work at 5. this opportunity was Betty's idea but no one wanted to take their day off to go. The sales staff all work on Saturdays so it was not really a good day but walmart will not allow any solicitation on a Sunday. We will give it a chance. The console table and mirror donated by the store is first place, second is a large gift basket with numerous items for men, women and kids and third place is a basket consisting of a hand made afghan, a basket by Bath and Body Works, a wallet from the jewelers and a gift card from Ross's. Chances are $3.00 for 1 or 2 chances for $5.00. Hopefully we sell quite a few. Relay is two weeks from today.

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!””Gone where?”Gone from my sight.
That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.

Don't Quit
