Good walk

Bundled up and out for a nice walk this afternoon, high of about 35 degrees, so was cold but felt good. Takes me a while to get ready to walk, I like to use the heart rate monitor, the pedometers, (two of them ) ipod, and today I took the new camera along to get some pictures. It takes some nice pictures and is easy to carry. The stream over by 555 is pretty full and looks quite different than it did this past summer. REally enjoyed the walk this afternoon, felt great to just strap on the music and go. Wasn't gone long, just to darn cold, but was out about a half hour. Went up to the big pond when I got back, the fish up there thought they were going to get fed, and came up to see me. My four favorites are still there and alive and well, and growing. They are getting so nice and big! I cannot wait for spring! Wish it would hurry up and get here!

In Memory

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!””Gone where?”Gone from my sight.
That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!” there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: ‘Here she comes!”
And that is dying.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will. When the road you're trudging seems all uphill. When funds are low and the debts are high. And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
