Great Day

Sure had a great visiting day today. Cher came up this morning and we went for a ride up and around Gardner Hill, we were looking for elk but didn't see any, nor any signs of them either. Only moving things we saw were dogs. Had a nice ride though, weren't sure where we were and ended up being gone about an hour and a half. Then we went downstairs and took turns on the bike, eliptical and treadmill. Nice having her here to work out with instead of just me. Later Jenny and Riss stopped down and visited for a few hours and that was really nice too. Riss is almost as tall as I am.

In Memory

I am standing upon the seashore. A ship at my side spreads her white sails to the morning breeze and starts for the blue ocean.
She is an object of beauty and strength. I stand and watch her until at length she hangs like a speck of white cloud just where the sea and sky come to mingle with each other.
Then someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!””Gone where?”Gone from my sight.
That is all. She is just as large in mast and hull and spar as she was when she left my side and she is just as able to bear her load of living freight to her destined port.
Her diminished size is in me, not in her. And just at the moment when someone at my side says: “There, she is gone!” there are other eyes watching her coming, and other voices ready to take up the glad shout: ‘Here she comes!”
And that is dying.

Don't Quit

When things go wrong as they sometimes will. When the road you're trudging seems all uphill. When funds are low and the debts are high. And you want to smile, but you have to sigh.
