The Zion Half
My daughter is doing the Zion Half Marathon in March 2014. I am considering doing it with her and trying to talk to Cheri into going with me. We did a 5k yesterday and it shows us how much training we would have to do to be able to do 13 miles. It would be over 4 times what we did yesterday. I think it would be a blast if we could do it and it would be exactly a month before my 60th birthday, so how awesome is that!
I am planning to complete my ACE CPT by then also, it could be two goals knocked out before I am 60. Two big goals. I woke up thinking about training for it this morning, would need to build the endurance and the strength and the lung capability. Would work great to do hills one day, long slow walk a day, hills a day, and keep building on it all.
Thinking about it.

Chapter 1, Scope of the Personal Trainer
Direct Quote from Chapter 1 of the manual "Understanding the ACE-certified
Personal Trainer’s scope of practice can be
empowering, as it defines a unique profession
dedicated to helping people improve their
fitness, health, and quality of life through
physical activity. Many of the professions in
healthcare are devoted to treating disease,
while a personal trainer primarily helps
people avoid disease. In a society where
almost two-thirds of the adult population is
overweight and physically inactive, and youth
are projected to possibly live shorter lives than
their parents, the role that ACE-certified
Personal Trainers play in the healthcare
continuum has never been more important."

ACEFitness Cert
Woo Hoo, I am so excited. I have been considering this again for the longest time, but I just enrolled with ACE Fitness to complete my Certification as Personal Trainer. For those that know me, this was my goal before buying the Curves Franchise and I had been working towards it. Owning and managing the business had put that dream on hold for a bit, however, I can only imagine how much more capable I will be of helping our ladies get healthy, fit and strong with all of this information at our fingertips. It seems no matter what I do, I keep coming back to this. So once again I am reaching to achieve another goal. Ya know, when you keep coming back to something I think it is probably God's way of letting us know we are supposed to be doing it. So, within the next year or so, my signature line should read
Health and Happiness,

Random thoughts
I could wake up at 4:30 Mon, Tues and Thursday and get my workout in before work. those days I don't get one in, its too busy once I get to the club. If I want to change my body, I need to change my habits.
I could keep studying my ACE book and then when ready, maybe come fall, pay for the class and be that much further ahead. I really want that certification and think I like the ACE better than the NCSF. However, I have both books, just not the time to read and study. Need to make that a priority also.
Need more time to work with the business too, we have had so many changes lately and I keep trying to learn all that but its taking away from building the membership and the contact with the members.
Hmm, these all fit into my top goals. Maybe I better get back to work on the push challenge.

1/1/2013 Happy New Year
1/1/2013
Tuesday, January 01, 2013
I love firsts, the first new day of the week, the month and especially the New Year.
I love setting goals on the first new day of the week, the month and the New Year.
Here are my goals for this first day of 2013.
Still number one is to build my business. 300 to 400 members at the club this year.
Less clutter-More organized. Use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.
Lose weight, body fat and belly. Weigh 110, body fat under 25% this year.
Financially secure and able to retire within years.Amp up savings.
Curves Smart installed at the club
Run one complete time around the track.
More free time with family on vacation.
Read the bible.
Those are my main goals for this new year. I have the two biggies, build the business and lose weight, body fat and belly broke down into baby steps how to get there.
These goals will be written out weekly in my planner under the goal list and may possibly change as goals sometimes do.
Some will be accomplished, the list will be added to and is an on going project always with me.

Planning and organizing
My new goals include to clean out one drawer, closet, shelf, thing, etc daily. Started today with my jewelry box, the wooden one on my dresser, Got rid of tons of junk. Felt great. Enjoying the day. John is at camp, I am home and off. Christmas music is playing on sirius. Snow is falling gently and i am enjoying time off and here alone.
Cher and I went for our second annual Black Friday shopping trip yesterday. Had a blast. We were both so excited, neither of us slept the night before. Gone about 12 hours. Lots of gifts bought.

New Year- New Goals
Well, I am not on sparkpeople much anymore since buying the Curves franchise in March 2010. I miss it and miss the people. I do still check in sometimes and was still logging food and exercise, However I bought a fitbit and now use that site. I really hope that sparkpeople and fitbit do manage to link together. There is some talk on it.
My goals for the new year...of course to stay on track. I have managed to lose site of that with fighting the mono and lymes. it is not gone, still very active and I have an appt with an infectious disease doctor on Thursday. I hope he can help. I have quit teaching Zumba for now but would like to restart it. I have been eating a bit more hoping that will help also. Didn't want to be cutting calories while I am fighting this disease.
Now, my new goal is to see the scale not go up at all...not even .01 pounds. Not to sure that digital is the way to go, but its what I have ..lol
If I can keep it going down or steady for now, it will be good enough. I am going back on Curves Complete weight management plan tomorrow. Enough. It's time.
Goal 2. ensure those 10,000 steps a day. I use to do this daily without much thought when selling furniture. There were days it was 15,000. I bought a health club and spend to much time behind the desk, that needs to change.
Goal 3. Get in 10 flights of stairs a day, the fitbit counts these and I can work towards a new badge with it. Awesome!

Dreams+Plans=Goal 1/1/11
I believe I do my best thinking either walking or in the tub. My favorite alone time. Today while walking ( in the rain) I realised that I need a goal and a plan to get there. My dream is to complete my course and be a fitness and nutriton expert, with my certification as Personal Trainer. I would like to be able to quit working full time at the furniture store and work at the Y, a gym, or out on my own as Personal Trainer.
The time frame to complete the course was 15 months, however, they had informed me that I could get an extension and they felt that with me working full time I would probably need that.
My goal is to complete my course, receive my ceriifcation and be ready to use it by 1/1/11. This entails me actually taking more time to study. I can do that.
I would also need to be financially able to quit working at my current income level so to that end I need to curtail spending on "frivolous items" I can do that.
I am sure I will come up with some other ideas and plans eventually but these are the two biggest obstacles to my reaching my goal by 1/1/11. So those are the two things to work on now. Wish me luck
